A CONCURRENT
RESOLUTION
TO HONOR W. M. JEFFERSON UPON HIS RETIREMENT AS
ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT FROM THE LEE COUNTY
SCHOOL DISTRICT.
Whereas, Mr. W. M. Jefferson ends his noteworthy academic career with
this school year upon his retirement as Assistant Superintendent of the
Lee County School District; and
Whereas, Mr. Jefferson received his elementary and high school
education at the Mayesville Institute in Mayesville, South Carolina and
obtained a B.S. degree in Chemistry form Allen University and a M.S.
degree in Chemistry and Education from South Carolina State College;
and
Whereas, Mr. Jefferson has been associated with the Lee County schools
for thirty years in various roles as a teacher, assistant principal, and
principal and finally as Assistant Superintendent for Personnel and
Instruction of Lee County School District; and
Whereas, Mr. Jefferson has not only served his academic community
well he has also actively supported his church as a member of the
General Conference of the A.M.E. Church from l968 to the present; and
Whereas, Mr. Jefferson has nobly supported his community by serving
as a Sumter County Magistrate for the past ten years and as Mayor of the
Town of Mayesville. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly honor W. M. Jefferson upon
his retirement as Assistant Superintendent from the Lee County School
District.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr.
W. M. Jefferson and the Lee County School District.
