 JEFF SCOTT FOR LEADING HIS FIRST-YEAR VARSITY FOOTBALL TEAM TO THE CLASS AAA
 STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE.

TO RECOGNIZE AND COMMEND BLYTHEWOOD HIGH SCHOOL HEAD COACH JEFF SCOTT FOR LEADING HIS FIRST-YEAR VARSITY FOOTBALL TEAM TO THE CLASS AAA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE.

Whereas, Coach John Scott piloted the Bengals of Blythewood High School to victory over Timberland High School 23-21 on Saturday, December 2, 2006, at Columbia's Williams-Brice Stadium, to capture the Class AAA State Championship title; and

Whereas, Coach Scott, with grueling practices, hard work, and determination, forged his first-year varsity football program into a championship team; and

Whereas, Blythewood High School's first-year varsity program is the first such program in South Carolina's history to win a state championship; and

Whereas, this crowning conquest caps an excellent season for Coach Scott and the Bengals, with fourteen wins and only one loss; and

Whereas, Coach Scott deserves accolades for spearheading the Bengals' incredible season and championship win; and

Whereas, Coach Scott is one of only two coaches in South Carolina's history to win state championships in their first season as a head coach; and

Whereas, Coach Scott has brought great pride and recognition to his school and community, and the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives are pleased to have this opportunity to recognize such an outstanding coach. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and commend Blythewood High School Head Coach Jeff Scott for leading his first-year varsity football team to the Class AAA State Championship title.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Coach Jeff Scott.
