 General Assembly of the State of South Carolina to the family and many friends
 of Robert "Bob" Parris of Cherokee County, a prominent civic leader and
 devoted public servant, upon his death.

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO EXPRESS THE DEEPEST SYMPATHY OF THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA TO THE FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS OF ROBERT "BOB" PARRIS OF CHEROKEE COUNTY, A PROMINENT CIVIC LEADER AND DEVOTED PUBLIC SERVANT, UPON HIS DEATH.

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly were very saddened to learn of the sudden death of Robert "Bob" Parris, a native of Gaffney, South Carolina; and

Whereas, he was the son of the late Jeff D. Parris and Pearl Greene Parris; and

Whereas, Bob Parris was retired from Boeing and was a veteran of the United States Air Force; and

Whereas, he was a member of American Legion Post 109 and a devoted member of Limestone Presbyterian Church; and

Whereas, Mr. Parris tirelessly contributed his time, talents, and energy to the Cherokee County Veteran's Museum by serving as the Curator; and

Whereas, he visited many confined veterans at VA medical facilities and nursing homes; and

Whereas, he further gave unselfishly to his community through his participation in many fund-raising efforts to assist the Gaffney High AFJROTC Program in obtaining computer up-date and purchase of drill rifles; and

Whereas, Mr. Parris was able to acquire financial support from Boeing for not only the "Small Fry Gang" scholarship efforts, but in other areas; and

Whereas, Bob Parris was an outstanding individual who was deeply committed to people and to his community, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, wish to express their deepest sympathy to the family and many friends of Robert "Bob" Parris of Cherokee County, a prominent civic leader and devoted public servant, upon his death.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the family of Robert "Bob" Parris.
