 A SENATE RESOLUTION TO HONOR AND CONGRATULATE PASTOR AND MRS. BOYCE WILLIAM
 WILES, OF ANDERSON COUNTY, ON THE OCCASION OF THEIR FIFTIETH WEDDING
 ANNIVERSARY AND TO EXTEND BEST WISHES FOR MANY MORE YEARS OF BLESSING AND
 FULFILLMENT TOGETHER.

TO HONOR AND CONGRATULATE PASTOR AND MRS. BOYCE WILLIAM WILES, OF ANDERSON COUNTY, ON THE OCCASION OF THEIR FIFTIETH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY AND TO EXTEND BEST WISHES FOR MANY MORE YEARS OF BLESSING AND FULFILLMENT TOGETHER.

Whereas, in a time when faithfulness to marriage vows is eschewed, Boyce William Wiles, known to friends and family as Buddy, and Elsie Martin Wiles, Dixie as she is fondly called, have reached the benchmark of fifty years of wedded fidelity, which stands as a testimony in any community; and

Whereas, as the roses began to bud on April 4, 1958, Reverend J. C. Inabinet united Elsie Lee Martin and Boyce William Wiles in holy matrimony at a ceremony in the home of the minister, in Elloree, South Carolina; and

Whereas, after graduating from Southern Methodist College in Orangeburg, Buddy Wiles pastored numerous Baptist and Southern Methodist churches throughout the state and is now retired, and his beloved Dixie has worked for over twenty years as assistant manager at Gary Russ Chevrolet in Greenwood; and

Whereas, Pastor Wiles earned a master's degree and a doctorate from International Seminary in Orlando, Florida, to hone his ministry skills that he might "rightly divide the word of truth" according to 2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV) and, in so doing, serve his family and congregations better; and

Whereas, together Dixie and Buddy Wiles raised three fine sons, Martin, Jeffrey, and Wesley, who reflect well the values which they lived out in their home and instilled in their children; and

Whereas, now they delight in the fruit of their labors as they watch their children instill those same sterling qualities in their eleven darling grandchildren; and

Whereas, this golden anniversary reflects years of genuine caring and faithful service together in their church, their home, and their community; and

Whereas, Pastor Wiles has learned the veracity of Proverbs 18:22 (KJV), "Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the Lord," and he now considers one of his crowning achievements as having had the good sense to marry his cherished Dixie; and

Whereas, no success authenticates a life as does a marriage that endures the test of time and that grows stronger with each passing year. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, honor and congratulate Pastor and Mrs. Boyce William Wiles, of Anderson County, on the occasion of their fiftieth wedding anniversary and extend best wishes for many more years of blessing and fulfillment together.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Pastor and Mrs. Buddy Wiles.
