 A HOUSE RESOLUTION TO RECOGNIZE AND COMMEND THE IRMO MIDDLE SCHOOL CTEAM BOYS
 BASKETBALL TEAM FOR ITS OUTSTANDING SEASON AND FOR CAPTURING THE PALMETTO
 ATHLETIC CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP, AND TO HONOR THE TEAM'S EXCEPTIONAL PLAYERS,
 COACHES, AND STAFF.

TO RECOGNIZE AND COMMEND THE IRMO MIDDLE SCHOOL CTEAM BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM FOR ITS OUTSTANDING SEASON AND FOR CAPTURING THE PALMETTO ATHLETIC CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP, AND TO HONOR THE TEAM'S EXCEPTIONAL PLAYERS, COACHES, AND STAFF.

Whereas, the Irmo Middle School Yellow Jacket Cteam boys basketball team defeated Dutch Fork 45-44 on Monday, February 5, 2007, at Lexington Middle School Gymnasium, to capture the Palmetto Athletic Conference Championship title; and

Whereas, Coaches Barry Lee and Anthony Smith, with grueling practices, hard work, and determination, built their basketball program into a championship team; and

Whereas, this crowning victory caps an excellent 2006-2007 season for the Yellow Jackets, with sixteen wins and only one loss; and

Whereas, as the first champions of the newly formed Palmetto Athletic Conference, these players and the coaches of Irmo Middle School deserve tribute for their incredible season and championship win; and

Whereas, the Yellow Jackets have brought great pride and recognition to their school and community, and the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives are pleased to have this opportunity to recognize such a wonderful group of young men. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and commend the Irmo Middle School Cteam boys basketball team for its outstanding season and for capturing the Palmetto Athletic Conference Championship, and honor the team's players, coaches, and staff for their exceptional achievement.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the principal of Irmo Middle School, Marie Waldrop, and coaches Barry Lee and Anthony Smith.
