 MAVERICKS" CROSS COUNTRY TEAM ON ITS IMPRESSIVE WIN OF THE 2006 CLASS AAAA
 STATE GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE, AND TO HONOR THE RUNNERS AND
 HEAD COACH DELMER HOWELL ON AN EXCEPTIONAL SEASON.

TO RECOGNIZE AND COMMEND THE MAULDIN HIGH SCHOOL "LADY MAVERICKS" CROSS COUNTRY TEAM ON ITS IMPRESSIVE WIN OF THE 2006 CLASS AAAA STATE GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE, AND TO HONOR THE RUNNERS AND HEAD COACH DELMER HOWELL ON AN EXCEPTIONAL SEASON.

Whereas, the Mauldin High School Lady Mavericks cross country team capped an outstanding season by capturing the 2006 Class AAAA State Girls Cross Country Championship title; and

Whereas, Head Coach Delmer Howell, with grueling practices, hard work, and determination, built his cross country program into a championship team; and

Whereas, no strangers to the taste of victory, the eight young women of the Mauldin High School girls cross country team deserve accolades for their incredible season and championship win, the latest in a long line of state cross country championships grabbed by the Lady Mavericks; and

Whereas, the Lady Mavericks of the Mauldin High School cross country team have brought great pride and recognition to their school and community, and the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives are pleased to have this opportunity to recognize such a wonderful group of young women. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, recognize and commend the Mauldin High School "Lady Mavericks" cross country team on its impressive win of the 2006 Class AAAA State Girls Cross Country Championship title, and honor the runners and Head Coach Delmer Howell on an exceptional season.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the principal of Mauldin High School, Ann Miller, and Head Coach Delmer Howell.
