 BOYS GOLF TEAM, OF GREENVILLE COUNTY, FOR CAPTURING THE 2007 SOUTH CAROLINA
 INDEPENDENT SCHOOL ASSOCIATION CLASS A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE, AND TO HONOR
 THE TEAM'S SUPERLATIVE PLAYERS, COACH, AND STAFF.

TO RECOGNIZE AND COMMEND THE CHRIST CHURCH EPISCOPAL SCHOOL BOYS GOLF TEAM, OF GREENVILLE COUNTY, FOR CAPTURING THE 2007 SOUTH CAROLINA INDEPENDENT SCHOOL ASSOCIATION CLASS A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE, AND TO HONOR THE TEAM'S SUPERLATIVE PLAYERS, COACH, AND STAFF.

Whereas, on May 1, 2007, the Christ Church Episcopal School boys golf team crowned its season by capturing the 2007 South Carolina Independent School Association Class A State Championship title, winning by thirty-two strokes and finishing with a 641 at The Wellman Club in Johnsonville; and

Whereas, having also grabbed the state title on eight previous occasions, an accomplishment that has given the team the second-best total in the State, only one title away from the record, the Cavaliers achieved this well-deserved victory by exhibiting teamwork, dedication, tenacity, and skill, without which no group of athletes can hope to excel; and

Whereas, in a clear demonstration of these talents and attributes at the May 1 playoffs, Coach R.J. Beach and the Christ Church Cavaliers gave indisputable evidence that championship preparation pays off in championship wins; and

Whereas, seniors Todd Rishel and Lee Grandy and eighth-grader Jordan Weede were honored with placement on the All-State team, with Todd Rishel winning the individual title by three shots and a two-day score of 153; and

Whereas, adding to the luster of an already gleaming record, the team won its region championship for the twelfth straight year, and Coach Beach was named Region Coach of the Year; and

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives take great pleasure in recognizing the noteworthy achievements of such exceptionally talented young athletes as those of the Christ Church boys golf team and expect to hear of continued great achievements in the years ahead. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and commend the Christ Church Episcopal School boys golf team, of Greenville County, for capturing the 2007 South Carolina Independent School Association Class A State Championship title, and honor the team's superlative players, coach, and staff.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the principal of Christ Church Episcopal School, Bill Sparrgrove, and Coach R.J. Beach.
