 VARSITY BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM FOR ITS OUTSTANDING SEASON AND FOR CAPTURING THE
 2007 CLASS A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE, AND TO HONOR THE TEAM'S EXCEPTIONAL
 PLAYERS, COACH, AND STAFF.

TO RECOGNIZE AND COMMEND THE CALHOUN COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL VARSITY BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM FOR ITS OUTSTANDING SEASON AND FOR CAPTURING THE 2007 CLASS A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE, AND TO HONOR THE TEAM'S EXCEPTIONAL PLAYERS, COACH, AND STAFF.

Whereas, the Calhoun County High School varsity boys basketball team defeated Baptist Hill 75-47 on Saturday, March 3, 2007, at the Colonial Center in Columbia, to capture the 2007 Class A State Championship title; and

Whereas, Coach Zam Fredrick, with grueling practices, hard work, and determination, built his basketball program into a championship team; and

Whereas, this crowning victory caps a perfect 28-0 season for the Saints and marks their sixth state championship, seventeenth consecutive regional championship, and forty-ninth straight game win, a record that proves the team is a perennial powerhouse to be reckoned with; and

Whereas, in further recognition for the team, sophomore Alshon Jeffries was named Class A Player of the Year, and senior Henry Johnson, Jr., was named to the Class A All-State team; and

Whereas, the Saints have brought great pride and recognition to their school and community, and the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives are pleased to have this opportunity to recognize such a wonderful group of young men. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and commend the Calhoun County High School varsity boys basketball team for its outstanding season and for capturing the 2007 Class A State Championship title, and honor the team's exceptional players, coach, and staff.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the principal of Calhoun County High School, Sheridan M. Hamilton, and Coach Zam Fredrick.
