A BILL
TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA,
1976, BY ADDING SECTION 57-3-665 SO AS TO PROVIDE
THAT THE SOUTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION SHALL CONSTRUCT AND MAINTAIN
TURNING LANES ENTERING AND EXITING SECONDARY
PUBLIC EDUCATION FACILITIES.
Amend Title To Conform
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South
Carolina:
SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 57-3-665. The South Carolina Department of
Transportation shall construct and maintain turning lanes used for
entering and exiting secondary public education facilities if
considered necessary by the department. The construction and
maintenance work by the department must be paid for from the
state highway fund."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the
Governor.
