 A Senate Resolution to extend sincere congratulations and best wishes of the
 members of the South Carolina State Senate to Judge George W. Tumbleston of
 Charleston County on the occasion of his retirement and wishing him success
 and happiness in all his future endeavors.

A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO EXTEND SINCERE CONGRATULATIONS AND BEST WISHES OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA STATE SENATE TO JUDGE GEORGE W. TUMBLESTON OF CHARLESTON COUNTY ON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT AND WISHING HIM SUCCESS AND HAPPINESS IN ALL HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina State Senate were saddened to learn that Judge George W. Tumbleston is retiring as Charleston County Judge after twenty-two years of distinguished service; and

Whereas, Judge Tumbleston is the son of George PreviousWashington Tumbleston and Maude Lee Jennings of Yonges Island, South Carolina; and

Whereas, he married Jane Warren of Ravenel in 1954, and is a man totally dedicated to their four children and four grandchildren; and

Whereas, beginning in 1950, Judge Tumbleston served his country in the United States Army and was stationed in Korea for eighteen months, promoted to 1st Sergeant of B Company, and received an Honorable Discharge in 1952; and

Whereas, he was appointed Constable for Judge William McAlister Hill in 1967; and

Whereas, he was elected Mayor of Ravenel in 1972, and served until May of 1973; and

Whereas, Judge Tumbleston was appointed Judge of Charleston County in 1973, has served as President of the Charleston County Magistrates' Association and Chief Judge of Charleston County; and

Whereas, Judge Tumbleston's abilities as a businessman and professional are indicative of his wise leadership that has given the South Carolina Magistrates' Association the stature it now has; and

Whereas, he has faithfully served Charleston County for a total of twenty-eight years in public service; and

Whereas, no man, upon retiring, ever took with him as high a degree of respect and good wishes from so many devoted friends and associates. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the South Carolina State Senate, by this resolution, extend their sincere congratulations and best wishes to Judge George W. Tumbleston, his wife, and his children upon his retirement.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Judge George W. Tumbleston.
