A BILL

TO AMEND CHAPTER 23, TITLE 57, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING PreviousARTICLENext 16 SO AS TO DESIGNATE A PORTION OF SOUTH CAROLINA HIGHWAY 316 IN CHARLESTON COUNTY AS "BEAR'S BLUFF ROAD SCENIC HIGHWAY".

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Chapter 23, Title 57 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:

Bear's Bluff Road Scenic Highway

Section 57-23-730. That portion of Highway 316 in Charleston County known as Bear's Bluff Road is designated as a scenic highway to be known as `Bear's Bluff Road Scenic Highway'. The Department of Transportation, the Department of Archives and History, and the Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism shall cooperate in the installation of appropriate markers and signs to implement the above designation.

Section 57-23-740. All off-premises outdoor advertising is prohibited on Bear's Bluff Road Scenic Highway after the effective date of this PreviousarticleNext. Off-premises signs existing on the effective date of this PreviousarticleNext must be removed within five years of the effective date of this Previousarticle.

Section 57-23-750. No trees in excess of a six-inch caliper located within the highway right-of-way of this scenic highway may be removed without the permission of the Department of Transportation upon the recommendation of the Charleston County Council."

Section 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
