H 2013 General Bill, By T.L. Hughston
 A Bill to amend Sections 47-3-10, Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976,
 relating to definitions for dogs and regulation by counties, so as to delete
 from the definition of "dogs" the minimum age limit of four months or more;
 47-3-20, relating to enactment of legislation for control of dogs and other
 domestic pets by governing bodies of counties, so as to allow enactment of
 ordinances and promulgation of regulations by county governing bodies not
 inconsistent with the provisions of ArticleNext 1 of Chapter 3 of Title 47, and
 delete the provision allowing the county governing bodies to prescribe
 penalties for violations; 47-3-40, relating to quarantine of dogs found
 running at large, release of those dogs, and disposition of fees, so as to
 provide that payment of a quarantine fee does not bar prosecution under
 Section 47-3-50; 47-3-50, relating to certain unlawful acts regarding dogs and
 the penalty, so as to delete language pertaining to a county's adopting
 penalty provisions pursuant to PreviousArticleNext 1 of Chapter 3 of Title 47, and change
 the penalty; and 47-3-60, relating to disposition of unclaimed dogs, so as to
 delete the term "The Humane Society" and replace it with the words "A Humane
 Society"; and to amend the 1976 Code by adding Section 47-3-80, so as to make
 it a misdemeanor and provide a penalty for violating any provision of PreviousArticleNext
 1 of Chapter 3 of Title 47, except as otherwise specifically set forth in that
 PreviousArticle.
