ZISSETTE ON THEIR OUTSTANDING SEASON AND CONGRATULATE THEM ON WINNING THE
CLASS A GIRLS STATE BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP FOR THE YEAR 2000-2001.

05/15/01 Senate Introduced, adopted, returned with concurrence SJ-5

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO COMMEND AND HONOR THE "LADY HAWKS" OF BLACKVILLE-HILDA HIGH SCHOOL, IN BLACKVILLE, SOUTH CAROLINA, AND COACH FARRELL ZISSETTE ON THEIR OUTSTANDING SEASON AND CONGRATULATE THEM ON WINNING THE CLASS A GIRLS STATE BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP FOR THE YEAR 2000-2001.

Whereas, the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina is pleased to learn that the "Lady Hawks" of Blackville-Hilda High School won the 2000-2001 Class A Girls State Basketball Championship this season; and

Whereas, the 2000-2001 basketball team finished with a record of twenty-seven wins and one lone loss while en route to their third straight championship season. This was the second time that the "Lady Hawks" have won three straight state championships in school history; and

Whereas, the team was comprised of Kiesha Jones, Tiffany Hagood, Shanekie Donaldson, Tamika Thomas, Katrina Coleman, Dania Salley, Ebony Armstrong, Sekina Ray, Amanda Hutto, Darcella Elmore, Gracie Ward, Kiandra Donaldson, Tonja Coleman, Shakela Matthews, Erica Williams; managers Celeina Bradley, Roshandra Saxon, Rasheda James; and coaches Farrell Zissette, Vicki Zissette, Robert Williams, Mike Beasley; and

Whereas, the entire team performed at such a level on the court all year that enabled the team to accomplish few things that other teams have been able to accomplish. The entire team established the goals of winning and through the leadership of Kiesha Jones, Tiffany Hagood, Tamika Thomas, and Katrina Coleman, all of which are all-star performers, the team was able to reach the set goals of the team; and

Whereas, the "Lady Hawks" of Blackville-Hilda High School have brought home to Blackville-Hilda High School another State Championship, the third straight. It is most befitting that the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina pauses in its deliberations to honor and commend the "Lady Hawks" on such an outstanding and spectacular performance. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, commend and honor the "Lady Hawks" of Blackville-Hilda High School, in Blackville, South Carolina, and Coach Farrell Zissette on their outstanding season and congratulate them on winning the Class A Girls State Basketball Championship for the year 2000-2001.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Blackville-Hilda High School.
