 FOR HER EXEMPLARY SERVICE AS THE SUPERVISOR OF THE STATE HOUSE EVENING
 CUSTODIAL STAFF AND WISHING HER ABUNDANT HAPPINESS AND GOOD HEALTH ON THE
 OCCASION OF HER UPCOMING RETIREMENT.

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

EXPRESSING THE SINCERE APPRECIATION OF THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA TO MRS. LILLIE BENJAMIN FOR HER EXEMPLARY SERVICE AS THE SUPERVISOR OF THE STATE HOUSE EVENING CUSTODIAL STAFF AND WISHING HER ABUNDANT HAPPINESS AND GOOD HEALTH ON THE OCCASION OF HER UPCOMING RETIREMENT.

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly have learned with deep regret that Mrs. Lillie Benjamin is retiring as the Supervisor of the State House evening custodial staff October 1, 2001; and

Whereas, Mrs. Benjamin has been employed in the custodial department since June 5, 1974, and she has been supervising at the State House for the last fifteen years; and

Whereas, Lillie Benjamin was married to the late James Benjamin, who supervised the custodial staff at the South Carolina Employment Security Commission's buildings before being forced to retire due to health reasons; and

Whereas, she has been blessed with two fine daughters, Lenora and Cynthia, and has two wonderful grandchildren, Danielle and Taylor; and

Whereas, Lillie Benjamin has been a faithful public servant and her career has been marked by dedication, integrity, and leadership; and

Whereas, Mrs. Lillie Benjamin is highly respected by her peers and the members of the General Assembly are greatly pleased to have this opportunity to honor such an outstanding individual. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina express their sincere appreciation to Mrs. Lillie Benjamin for her exemplary service as the Supervisor of the State House evening custodial staff and wish her abundant happiness and good health on the occasion of her upcoming retirement.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Mrs. Lillie Benjamin.
