 A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION EXPRESSING SINCERE SORROW AT THE DEATH OF DR. WILLIAM
 BRUCE CROWLEY OF LEXINGTON COUNTY, AND EXTENDING DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HIS
 FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

EXPRESSING SINCERE SORROW AT THE DEATH OF DR. WILLIAM BRUCE CROWLEY OF LEXINGTON COUNTY, AND EXTENDING DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.

Whereas, Dr. William Bruce Crowley of West Columbia died January 6, 2002; and

Whereas, Dr. Crowley received his B. A. degree and master's degree from the University of South Carolina and his doctorate from Peabody College of Vanderbilt University; and

Whereas, an educator by profession, Dr. Crowley served as coach, principal, Director of the State Department of Education, and college professor at Columbia College, Furman University, and the University of South Carolina; and

Whereas, he also served as Superintendent of Schools for Florence District One for ten years and as Interim Superintendent at Lexington School District One; after retiring, he was a consultant for the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools self-studies for numerous school districts in the Palmetto State, area coordinator for Phi Delta, and President of WBC Educational Consultants, Inc.; and

Whereas, his life was devoted to service; he received awards recognizing his service and leadership, and he was active in community, civic, and church affairs; he was an outstanding individual who will be greatly missed. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of South Carolina, by this resolution, express deepest sorrow at the death of Dr. William Bruce Crowley of Lexington County and extend sincerest sympathy to his family and many friends.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to his widow, Mrs. Ferrell Gibbons Crowley.
