 HER MANY YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE CITIZENS OF AIKEN AND SOUTH
 CAROLINA, AND TO EXTEND BEST WISHES TO HER AND HER FAMILY ON THE OCCASION OF
 HER RETIREMENT AS PRESIDENT OF THE AIKEN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO COMMEND AND CONGRATULATE JUNE MURFF OF AIKEN FOR HER MANY YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE CITIZENS OF AIKEN AND SOUTH CAROLINA, AND TO EXTEND BEST WISHES TO HER AND HER FAMILY ON THE OCCASION OF HER RETIREMENT AS PRESIDENT OF THE AIKEN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly express gracious gratitude to June Murff for her more than twenty years of service to the Aiken Chamber of Commerce; and

Whereas, as President of the Aiken Chamber of Commerce since 1981, June Murff has made a career of helping promote and develop the Aiken community; and

Whereas, June has dedicated countless hours to promoting Aiken through legislative affairs, tourism, demographics, economic development, and many other areas that affect quality of life; and

Whereas, June Murff's hard work and unending effort has led Aiken to be featured in such magazines as Southern Living, Peachtree's Symbol, Southern Travel, and Town & Country. Money Magazine has rated Aiken among the top ten places to retire; and

Whereas, June Murff is very involved in numerous boards and commissions as well as a member of many clubs and organizations. She has received honors and awards ranging from Chamber of Commerce Woman of the Year in 1986 to the Toastmasters International Communication Achievement Award in 1987 to recognition for service by the Schofield Middle School Historical Society and Schofield Wetlands Project in 1995; and

Whereas, because of June's exemplary service, contributions, and allegiance to the State of South Carolina and its citizens, she received the Order of the Silver Crescent on December 2, 1999; and

Whereas, June is happily married to Nick Murff, and they have a son, Scott, who teaches architecture at Arizona State University; and

Whereas, it is appropriate that the members of the General Assembly pause in their deliberations so that they may honor so distinguished a citizen of Aiken and South Carolina as June Murff. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, commend and congratulate June Murff of Aiken for her many years of dedicated service to the citizens of Aiken and South Carolina, and extend best wishes to her and her family on the occasion of her retirement as President of the Aiken Chamber of Commerce.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to June Murff of Aiken.
