A bill

to amend the South Carolina Code of Laws by amending Section 59-63-45, relating to reimbursements for a student PreviousattendingNext another school district, so as to PROVIDE THAT THE PER PUPIL COST FOR A STUDENT PreviousATTENDINGNext A NEW SCHOOL DISTRICT IN ORDER TO PreviousATTENDNext A PUBLIC OR PRIVATE SCHOOL THAT IS OFFERING FIVE DAYS EACH WEEK OF IN-PERSON INSTRUCTION, MUST BE TRANSFERRED TO THE NEW SCHOOL DISTRICT OR PRIVATE SCHOOL.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1.   Section 59-63-45 of the S.C. Code is amended by adding a subsection to read:

   (E) If a student PreviousattendsNext a school in a school district in which he is not a resident, in order to PreviousattendNext a public or private school that is offering five days each week of in-person instruction, as provided in this section, the per pupil cost for that student must be transferred to the new school district or private school in which the student is Previousattending to offset any costs the family may owe pursuant to subsection (A).

SECTION 2.   This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
