A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
TO COMMEND AND CONGRATULATE THE MEMBERS OF THE SWANSEA HIGH SCHOOL TIGER BAND FOR WINNING THE 2000 CLASS AA MARCHING BAND STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.
Whereas, the members of the General Assembly are pleased to learn that the members of the Swansea High School Tiger Band won their second consecutive Class AA Marching Band State Championship; and
Whereas, the Swansea Tigers' one hundred twenty-five member marching band won all six competitions it entered including the Columbia Mayor's Cup and obtained highest score at the Capital City Classic regardless of school size classification; and
Whereas, the Swansea Tiger Band outscored all sixty-one bands it competed against this year and scored a 95.95 in the state competition, the highest score received in the AA classification; and
Whereas, the 2000 Swansea Tiger Marching Band State Champions were led by Bryan Bone, Director, and Tom Henke, Assistant Director; and
Whereas, the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, would like to publicly recognize and commend the Swansea High School Tiger Band, AA Marching Band State Champions, for this truly deserved accomplishment. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, commend and congratulate the members of the Swansea High School Tiger Band for winning the 2000 Class AA Marching Band State Championship.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Swansea Tiger Band.
