A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

EXPRESSING THE SORROW OF THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY AT THE DEATH OF DONALD GUY LEE OF PIEDMONT, AND EXTENDING SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.

Whereas, Donald Guy Lee of Piedmont died on March 12, 1995; and

Whereas, Mr. Lee was born in Greenville and was a graduate of Carolina High School, Palmer Junior College, and the University of South Carolina at Spartanburg; and

Whereas, he served with the United States Coast Guard during the Vietnam War, and after twenty-one years with the Greenville County Sheriff's Office, he retired as senior investigator in the economic crime unit; and

Whereas, he was also a bomb technician and arson investigator with the Greenville County Sheriff's Office; and

Whereas, he was a deacon of Northeast Church of Christ, where he was leader of Home Bible Studies and was involved with foreign missions and the prison ministry of his church; and

Whereas, he was highly dedicated to law enforcement, and his career with the Greenville County Sheriff's Office clearly demonstrated his loyalty and devotion to duty; and

Whereas, he was admired and loved by all who knew him, and his presence will be missed greatly. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, expresses sorrow at the death of Donald Guy Lee of Piedmont and extends sympathy to his family and many friends.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Lee's family at 124 Sherman Court, Piedmont, and to the Greenville County Sheriff's Office.
