A CONCURRENT
RESOLUTION
EXPRESSING SORROW AT THE DEATH OF THE
HONORABLE WALLACE D. CONNOR OF WILLIAMSBURG
COUNTY AND EXTENDING SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY
AND MANY FRIENDS.
Whereas, the Honorable Wallace D. Connor of Williamsburg
County died April 20, 1995, at the age of seventy-eight; and
Whereas, he was born in Brunson, was an Army veteran of World
War II, and was a graduate of The Citadel and the University of
South Carolina School of Law; and
Whereas, he was retired as an attorney with Connor & Connor
law firm of Kingstree, and he was a former member of the South
Carolina House of Representatives, and a former South Carolina
highway commissioner; and
Whereas, he was a board member of the AAA Carolina Motor Club
and a member of Kingstree United Methodist Church, where he was
a Sunday School teacher; and
Whereas, he was the father of the Honorable Carol Connor, member
of the South Carolina Court of Appeals; and
Whereas, Mr. Connor was an outstanding lawyer and a highly
respected and admired member of his community; and
Whereas, we want his family and many friends to know that they
are in our thoughts and prayers and have our deepest sympathy.
Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate
concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South
Carolina, by this resolution, express sorrow at the death of the
Honorable Wallace D. Connor of Williamsburg County and extend
sympathy to his family and many friends.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to
Mr. Connor's family.
