A CONCURRENT
RESOLUTION
EXPRESSING THE SORROW OF THE MEMBERS OF THE
GENERAL ASSEMBLY AT THE DEATH OF LOUISE GANTT
WIEHRS OF KINGSTREE AND EXTENDING SYMPATHY TO
HER FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.
Whereas, Louise Gantt "Twinkle" Wiehrs of Kingstree
has died at the age of seventy-two; and
Whereas, she was born in Barnwell County, graduated from
Tri-County Hospital School of Nursing, was an Army Nurse Corps
veteran of World War II, and was a member of St. Albans
Episcopal Church; and
Whereas, she was the wife of the late Paul Harper Wiehrs and she
is survived by her children, Dr. Paula Kretschmar of Chapin,
Paulette Avinger of Orangeburg, Paulena Prosser of Marion, and
Paulissa Brown of Sumter, by sisters, Betty Hunter of Sumter and
Lillian Bookhart of Orangeburg, by seven grandchildren and by two
stepgrandchildren; and
Whereas, Mrs. Wiehrs was a beloved and respected community and
family leader and will be missed greatly. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate
concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South
Carolina, by this resolution, express sorrow at the death of Louise
Gantt Wiehrs of Kingstree and extend sympathy to her family and
many friends.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to
the family of Louise Gantt Wiehrs.
