A BILL
TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA,
1976, BY ADDING SECTION 47-17-161 SO AS TO REQUIRE
THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENTAL
CONTROL TO BEAR THE COSTS OF THE S.W.A.B. TEST
INSPECTION REQUIRED OF MEAT PACKING COMPANIES
BY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South
Carolina:
SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 47-17-161. Notwithstanding any other provision of law,
the costs of the S.W.A.B. Test inspection required of meat packing
companies by the federal government shall be borne by the
Department of Health and Environmental Control."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
