ONE HUNDREDTH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION.

RESOLUTION
TO OFFER BEST WISHES AND HEARTFELT
CONGRATULATIONS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA TO THE
BELOVED MRS. CORRIE BELL MISSOURI OF RICHLAND
COUNTY ON THE OCCASION OF HER ONE HUNDREDTH
BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION.
Whereas, Mrs. Corrie Bell Missouri was born on March 24, 1898, in
Richland County; and
Whereas, she is the daughter of the late Wilson and Estelle Bell; and
Whereas, of her parents' six children, she and her
eighty-nine-year-old brother, William, are the only surviving
siblings; and
Whereas, Mrs. Missouri is the widow of the late Bogan C. Missouri;
and
Whereas, she is the proud parent of one son, Reverend Rufus Levi
Mosby, has two granddaughters and one great grandson; and
Whereas, Mrs. Missouri attended Zion Canaan Church School for
only three months during the school year because her family worked
as farm laborers during the remainder of the year; and
Whereas, she is a very active member of the Francis Burns Senior
Citizens organization and is active with the Zion Canaan Senior
Citizens Bible Study; and
Whereas, annually, Mrs. Missouri enjoys visiting the Pontiac
Elementary School where she entertains the students with facts from
her "wonder years" and is noted for reciting the alphabet
backwards; and
Whereas, her hobbies include reading the Holy Bible and listening to
all types of Christian music; and
Whereas, Mrs. Missouri's message to our youth is "obey your
parents", and her message to parents is "love and respect
your children and teach your children about the Lord"; and
Whereas, she will proudly celebrate her one hundredth birthday on
March 24, 1998; and
Whereas, we would like to take this opportunity to offer a special
tribute to Mrs. Corrie Bell Missouri on a very special day her one
hundredth birthday. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate
concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South
Carolina offer their best wishes and heartfelt congratulations to Mrs.
Corrie Bell Missouri of Richland County on the occasion of her one
hundredth birthday celebration.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to
Mrs. Corrie Bell Missouri.
