 THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH CAROLINA, COLUMBIA CAMPUS, AND TO WISH DEAN RAYMOND
 HEALTH AND HAPPINESS IN HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO COMMEND AND HONOR FRANK B. RAYMOND III, OF COLUMBIA, SOUTH CAROLINA, UPON HIS RETIREMENT AS DEAN OF THE COLLEGE OF SOCIAL WORK AT THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH CAROLINA, COLUMBIA CAMPUS, AND TO WISH DEAN RAYMOND HEALTH AND HAPPINESS IN HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate have learned of the retirement of Dean Frank B. Raymond III, Dean of the College of Social Work at the University of South Carolina and wish to express their appreciation for all that Dean Raymond has accomplished in his field of social work and for the entire State; and

Whereas, Dean Frank Raymond was born in Apex, North Carolina, is married to Gail Inman Raymond, Ph.D., and they have one child, Suzanne Abigail Raymond; and

Whereas, Dean Raymond graduated from Wake Forest University in 1962 with a B.A. degree, Magna Cum Laude, then attended the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and earned his M.S.W. degree in 1965, and in 1971 he earned his Ph.D. from Tulane University; and

Whereas, Dean Raymond has been the Dean of the College of Social Work at the University of South Carolina since 1980 and has been the Director of the University Specialty Clinics: Social Work at USC and also has served as acting Dean and Professor at the College of Social Work for a year, and for seven years prior was a professor who taught in the areas of social welfare policy and services, administration of social agencies, community organization, and human behavior and social environment; and

Whereas, Dean Raymond has had many articles published in numerous books, magazines, and journals including Journal of Global Awareness, Rural Community Mental Heath, The University Culture, Social Work in Juvenile and Criminal Justice Settings, and many more; and

Whereas, due to Dean Raymond's expertise and experience in the field of social work he has been honored by and contributed his services to many organizations, both academic and scientific, all the while still engaged in his everyday activities as a dean at the University of South Carolina; and

Whereas, because Dean Frank Raymond has given so much of his time and talent to the field of social work throughout his thirty plus years of involvement and his twenty-two year stint as Dean of the College of Social Work at the University of South Carolina, the members of the Senate believe it appropriate to pause in their deliberations so that they might honor and commend this dedicated man for all that he has done for the field of social work, the University of South Carolina, and the people of this State. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, commend and honor Frank B. Raymond III, of Columbia, South Carolina, upon his retirement as Dean of the College of Social Work at the University of South Carolina, Columbia campus, and wish him health and happiness in his future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Dean Frank B. Raymond III.
