 RICHLAND COUNTY ON THE OCCASION OF MOTHER'S DAY FOR HER DEVOTION TO HER
 CHURCH, FAMILY, AND MANY FRIENDS.

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

RECOGNIZING AND COMMENDING MRS. ETHEL MOORE OF RICHLAND COUNTY ON THE OCCASION OF MOTHER'S DAY FOR HER DEVOTION TO HER CHURCH, FAMILY, AND MANY FRIENDS.

Whereas, Mrs. Ethel Moore was born on September 2, 1922, in Richland County; and

Whereas, she is the daughter of the late Authur P. Gordon and the late John Anne Morgan Gordon; and

Whereas, Mrs. Moore attended the public schools of Richland County and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1940, and attended Benedict College; and

Whereas, in 1942 she married Mr. Wallace Moore and during their union of thirty-six years they were blessed with four children; and

Whereas, for a number of years Mrs. Moore was a public school teacher in Edgefield County; and

Whereas, in 1946 she and her husband opened and operated Moore's Cleaners in the City of Columbia, South Carolina; and

Whereas, Mrs. Moore has been a dedicated member of New Ebenezer Baptist Church in Richland County since she was fourteen years old, and during her membership she has chaired the Den Mother's and Father's Club, served as Secretary for the Missionary Society for thirty years and Secretary of the Deaconess Board for twenty years, is a member of the Senior Citizens Group and is a former member of the Kitchen Committee; and

Whereas, she is active in many of her community's organizations; and

Whereas, it is fitting and proper for the members of the General Assembly to pause in their deliberations to recognize Mrs. Ethel Moore on the occasion of Mother's Day. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, recognize and commend Mrs. Ethel Gordon Moore of Richland County, on the occasion of Mother's Day for her exceptional devotion to her church, family, and many friends.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Mrs. Ethel Moore.
