 2001, AND TO WISH HER MANY MORE HEALTHY AND HAPPY BIRTHDAYS IN THE YEARS TO
 COME.

A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO HONOR AND EXTOL MRS. DELIE BLACKMON HINSON OF LANCASTER COUNTY ON THE OCCASION OF HER ONE HUNDREDTH BIRTHDAY ON FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 7, 2001, AND TO WISH HER MANY MORE HEALTHY AND HAPPY BIRTHDAYS IN THE YEARS TO COME.

Whereas, the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina is pleased to honor Mrs. Delie Blackmon Hinson for her one hundred years of life well spent in South Carolina; and

Whereas, Delie Blackmon Hinson was born September 7, 1901, to Amos Blackmon and Almetta Harris Blackmon. Mrs. Blackmon died in 1907, and Mr. Blackmon married Henrietta Deese, who became like a real mother to the children; and

Whereas, Delie Blackmon Hinson and her eight siblings grew up in the Pleasant Plain Community of Lancaster County; and

Whereas, Delie Blackmon Hinson married Marion C. Hinson in 1921 and moved to the Rich Hill Community of Lancaster County where they lived and worked on a farm. In 1938, they bought their own farm on Highway 903 near the Primus Community in Lancaster County. The farm is still in the family and is now owned by children and grandchildren; and

Whereas, Mr. and Mrs. Hinson had three loving children, Wade C. Hinson, Myrtle Hinson Roberts, and Marion Bruce Hinson. After Mr. Hinson died in 1963, Mrs. Hinson never remarried and eventually went to live with her daughter in 1983; and

Whereas, Mrs. Hinson is an extremely active lady who loves crocheting, reading, cooking, and helping her daughter with housework. She is a member of High Point Baptist Church and the Dorcas Sunday School Class; and

Whereas, the House of Representatives is proud to honor such a wonderful lady as Mrs. Delie Blackmon Hinson on the occasion of reaching the milestone of her one hundredth birthday. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, honor and extol Mrs. Delie Blackmon Hinson of Lancaster County on the occasion of her one hundredth birthday on Friday, September 7, 2001, and wish her many more healthy and happy birthdays in the years to come.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mrs. Delie Blackmon Hinson of Lancaster County.
