A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE MR. LOY WAGNER OF WILLIAMSTON FOR HIS LIFELONG DEDICATION TO MUSIC EDUCATION AND TO EXPRESS THE SINCERE APPRECIATION OF THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY TO MR. WAGNER FOR ENRICHING THE LIVES OF THOUSANDS OF SOUTH CAROLINA STUDENTS BY SHARING HIS TALENT AND LOVE FOR MUSIC.

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly are proud to recognize Mr. Loy Wagner of Williamston for his invaluable contributions to the education of students through the teaching and appreciation of his passion, music; and

Whereas, Loy Wagner was born in Greenville and taught music in South Carolina public schools for thirty-three years, sharing his love of music with thousands of South Carolina students; and

Whereas, Mr. Wagner taught at Liberty High School, Greer High School, Barnwell High School, Ware Shoals High School, Palmetto High School, and Easley High School; and

Whereas, Mr. Wagner was a charter member and former president of the South Carolina Band Directors Association and former president of the South Carolina Music Educators Association; and

Whereas, Mr. Wagner was inducted into the South Carolina Band Directors Association's Hall of Fame and was well known for his innovative show design and production; and

Whereas, Mr. Wagner has been praised by former students for his concern for individual students as well as his dedication to producing excellent performances; and

Whereas, it is with great pleasure that the members of the General Assembly extol Mr. Loy Wagner for his enduring commitment to teaching such an integral and life enriching element of education as music. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, recognize Mr. Loy Wagner of Williamston for his lifelong dedication to music education and to express the sincere appreciation of the members of the General Assembly to Mr. Wagner for enriching the lives of thousands of South Carolina students by sharing his talent and love for music.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Loy Wagner.
