 OF SUMMERTON, SOUTH CAROLINA, AND TO EXPRESS SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND MANY
 FRIENDS UPON HIS PASSING.

A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO REMEMBER THE LIFE AND SERVICE OF MR. WILLIE G. RICHBURG OF SUMMERTON, SOUTH CAROLINA, AND TO EXPRESS SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS UPON HIS PASSING.

Whereas, Mr. Willie G. Richburg passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2002, at the age of eighty-nine at the Lake Marion Nursing Facility; and

Whereas, Mr. Richburg was born on January 6, 1913, in Summerton, South Carolina, and was the son of the late Richard and Lurena Montgomery Richburg; and

Whereas, Willie Richburg was a faithful member of the Friendship A.M.E. Church located in the Silver community of Summerton. He served the members of the congregation on the steward board, the trustee board, and the finance committee; and

Whereas, Mr. Richburg's acts of faith went beyond the walls of his own church through his work as an annual and general A.M.E. Church Conference delegate and was past President of the Manning District Lay Organization; and

Whereas, Mr. Willie Richburg is survived by his beloved wife, Josie B. Richburg; four sons, Willie, Joseph, Martin, and Leon; four daughters, Deloris, Margaret, Bessie, and Mattie; and one brother, two sisters, seventeen grandchildren, and twenty-three great-grandchildren; and

Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives pause to reflect on the life of Mr. Willie Richburg and trust that his memory will be forever cherished by all who knew this faithful servant of God. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, remember the life and service of Mr. Willie G. Richburg of Summerton, South Carolina, and express sympathy to his family and many friends upon his passing.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to his wife, Mrs. Josie B. Richburg.
