A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING MRS. KATE DEATON OF CHEROKEE COUNTY ON THE OCCASION OF HER ONE HUNDREDTH BIRTHDAY ON FEBRUARY 27, 1992.

Whereas, Mrs. Kate Deaton of Cherokee County was born on February 27, 1892; and

Whereas, Mrs. Deaton is a resident of Gaffney and is the widow of Wade Deaton; and

Whereas, she has one surviving daughter, Katherine Thornburg; and

Whereas, on February 27, 1992, Mrs. Deaton, her family, and friends will mark the occasion of her one hundredth birthday -- a wonderful accomplishment and milestone; and

Whereas, Mrs. Deaton is much-loved and an outstanding individual and is highly deserving of recognition on this happy occasion. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates Mrs. Kate Deaton of Cherokee County on the occasion of her one hundredth birthday on February 27, 1992.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mrs. Deaton, 139 Northey Street, Gaffney.
