 A Concurrent Resolution to express the deepest sympathy of the members of the
 General Assembly to the family and many friends and admirers of Ralph Franklin
 King of Anderson who died Thursday, April 11, 1991.

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO EXPRESS THE DEEPEST SYMPATHY OF THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY TO THE FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS AND ADMIRERS OF RALPH FRANKLIN KING OF ANDERSON WHO DIED THURSDAY, APRIL 11, 1991.

Whereas, Ralph Franklin King of Anderson died Thursday, April 11, 1991; and

Whereas, born in Anderson County, he was the son of the late Thomas Marion and Alice Elizabeth Jolly King; and

Whereas, Mr. King was retired as probate judge of Anderson County. He served in the capacity for forty-eight years; and

whereas, he was a former member and past president of the Anderson Kiwanis Club, past lieutenant governor and a member of Carolina District Kiwanis club, a deacon and choir member of the First Baptist Church, and a former teacher and past president of the Baraca Sunday School Class; and

Whereas, in 1932, Mr. King organized the Baraca Quartet and in 1934 was instrumental in obtaining a radio connection between Anderson and Greenville over station WFBC; and

Whereas, Mr. King served as a teacher of the Baraca Sunday School Class from 1941 to 1984. On Easter Sunday in 1984 the Baraca Sunday School Class was renamed the Ralph F. King Baraca Class; and

Whereas, he was a 1920 graduate of Clemson College and was a former high school principal and teacher of mathematics and vocational agriculture in Simpsonville; and

Whereas, surviving are a son, Ralph F. King, Jr., of Spartanburg; a daughter, Mrs. Frank (Helen) Turner of Asheville, North Carolina, eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly express their deepest sympathy to the family and many friends and admirers of Ralph Franklin King of Anderson who died Thursday, April 11, 1991.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the King family.
