A CONCURRENT
RESOLUTION
TO EXPRESS THE DEEPEST SYMPATHY OF THE MEMBERS
OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY TO THE FAMILY AND MANY
FRIENDS OF MR. WILLIAM TALBERT KENNEDY OF
MANNING WHO DIED SATURDAY, APRIL 2, 1994.
Whereas, Mr. William Talbert Kennedy of Manning died Saturday,
April 2, 1994; and
Whereas, born in Lake City, he was a son of the late William
Thaddeus and Elizabeth Worsham Kennedy; and
Whereas, Mr. Kennedy attended Furman University, was a World War
II Army veteran where he received two Bronze Stars for Valor, was
retired from W. C. Plowden Motor Company of New Zion, and was
affiliated with Liberty Life Insurance Company. He was also a Mason
and a member of Black River American Legion Post and Manning
United Methodist Church; and
Whereas, surviving are his wife, Coline Gibbons Kennedy; sons, Dr.
Phillip Kennedy of Hartsville and Wayne Kennedy of Anderson; a
brother, Alva Kennedy of Turbeville; sisters Betty Lee Gardner,
Madelyn Lowder and Carolyn Cuttino of Sumter, and Elizabeth
Gibbons of Turbeville; and five grandchildren. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly express their deepest
sympathy to the family and many friends of Mr. William Talbert
Kennedy of Manning who died Saturday, April 2, 1994.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to
the family of Mr. Kennedy.
