 BEING APPOINTED DISTRICT SUPERINTENDENT OF THE CHARLESTON DISTRICT UNITED
 METHODIST CHURCH AND COMMENDING HIM ON HIS DISTINGUISHED CAREER.

CONGRATULATING THE REVEREND LARRY DAVID MCCUTCHEON ON BEING APPOINTED DISTRICT SUPERINTENDENT OF THE CHARLESTON DISTRICT UNITED METHODIST CHURCH AND COMMENDING HIM ON HIS DISTINGUISHED CAREER.

Whereas, The Reverend Larry D. McCutcheon is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel David McCutcheon of Lake City, South Carolina; and

Whereas, he is married to Gloria McCutcheon and together are the proud parents of two daughters, Carmen Jeanine and Priscilla; and

Whereas, Reverend McCutcheon graduated with honors from Carver High School in Lake City, South Carolina, earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Religion and Theology from Claflin College in Orangeburg, South Carolina, received a Master of Divinity Degree with honors from the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, Georgia, and has completed work toward a Doctorate Degree at the Candler Theological Seminary in Atlanta, Georgia; and

Whereas, with twenty-three years in the ministry, he has served on numerous boards and agencies that include service as Chairperson of the South Carolina Annual Conference Health and Welfare Committee, Administrative Council of the Council on Ministries, Board of Higher Education and Campus Ministry, and Dean of Ethnic Minority Local Church Pastors' School; and

Whereas, Reverend McCutcheon has been a strong advocate of parenting workshops and Head Start programs; and

Whereas, Reverend McCutcheon is an outstanding individual and a genuine role model for countless persons; and

Whereas, he will assume the duties of District Superintendent of the Charleston District United Methodist Church in June; and

Whereas, it is appropriate for the members of the General Assembly to recognize the accomplishments of this distinguished South Carolinian. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, extend congratulations to The Reverend Larry David McCutcheon on his appointment as District Superintendent of the Charleston District United Methodist Church and commend him on his distinguished career.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to The Reverend Larry David McCutcheon.
