A CONCURRENT
RESOLUTION
TO COMMEND COLONEL LOGAN WESTON FOR HIS
DISTINGUISHED MILITARY SERVICE AND HIS OUTSTANDING
AND DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE UNITED STATES OF
AMERICA.
Whereas, Colonel Logan Weston is being honored for his many years of
outstanding and dedicated service to the United States of America; and
Whereas, Colonel Weston's brilliant service career spanned a period of
twenty-eight years and three major periods of war: World War II, the
Korean Conflict, and the Vietnam War; and
Whereas, Colonel Weston served with great distinction and courage with
Merrill's Marauders in World War II, the 25th Infantry Division in
Korea, and with the Special Forces in Vietnam and received an
incredible fifty-seven military decorations including two Distinguished
Service Crosses, three Silver Stars, five Bronze Stars, and five Purple
Hearts; and
Whereas, Colonel Weston, in addition to being a renowned Army
Infantry Officer, is also an ordained minister and has always been known
as "The Fighting Preacher". Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina extends
special commendations upon Colonel Logan Weston for his
distinguished public service and invaluable contributions to the security
and freedom of the United States, expresses its sincere gratitude, and
wishes him the very best in his future endeavors.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to
Colonel Logan Weston, 298 Swamp Fox Road, Fort Mill, South
Carolina 29715.
