 A HOUSE RESOLUTION TO EXPRESS THE PROFOUND SORROW OF THE MEMBERS OF THE HOUSE
 OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA ON THE DEATH OF GLEN TAYLOR
 SANDERS OF LEXINGTON AND TO EXTEND THEIR DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HER FAMILY AND
 MANY FRIENDS.

TO EXPRESS THE PROFOUND SORROW OF THE MEMBERS OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA ON THE DEATH OF GLEN TAYLOR SANDERS OF LEXINGTON AND TO EXTEND THEIR DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HER FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Glen Taylor Sanders at the age of fifty-eight on Friday, April 2, 2004, after a long and hard-fought battle with cancer; and

Whereas, born in Fairfield County, she was the cherished daughter of Bertha Davis Taylor and the late W. E. Taylor; and

Whereas, Mrs. Sanders was the beloved wife of Walter L. "Sonny" Sanders and the proud mother of a daughter and two sons, Amber Renee Sanders of Lexington, Rhett Sanders of Murrells Inlet, and Kevin Sanders of Lexington, and she was also the grandmother of Peyton Sanders, whom she adored; and

Whereas, survived by her mother of Winnsboro, she was also the devoted sister of Mrs. Janice T. Groomes of Orangeburg, Mrs. Vernon L. (Donna) Mayes of Irmo, Mrs. Clem (Kit T.) Burroughs of Winnsboro, and Steven D. Taylor of Lexington. She now joins her brother Jerry T. Taylor of Louisville, Kentucky, who preceded her in death; and

Whereas, Mrs. Sanders contributed to her local community and the State in many ways throughout her lifetime as a member of the Lexington Woman's Club, Republican Women, the Lexington Arts Association, the Lexington Jaycettes, and the South Carolina Commission on Women; and

Whereas, she was a woman of great faith, strength, and perseverance and was a faithful member of Lexington Presbyterian Church; and

Whereas, Mrs. Sanders daily demonstrated her commitment to her family, her community, and her God throughout her lifetime. Her life is both an inspiration and an example of courage to all who knew and loved her, and she will be greatly missed. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, express their profound sorrow on the death of Glen Taylor Sanders of Lexington and extend their deepest sympathy to her family and many friends.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Sonny Sanders and the family of Glen Taylor Sanders.
