AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 50-11-2110, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO BUYING OR SELLING DEER, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT THE HIDE OF A DEER LEGALLY TAKEN, MAY BE SOLD, BARTERED, OFFERED FOR SALE OR IN POSSESSION, AND TO PROVIDE FURTHER THAT HIDES FROM LEGALLY TAKEN DEER MAY BE BOUGHT, SOLD OR BARTERED FOR A PERIOD OF THIRTY CALENDAR DAYS FOLLOWING THE PreviousENDNext OF THE DEER SEASON.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Hide of deer may be sold, bartered, etc.

Section 1. Section 50-11-2110 of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 511 of 1976, is further amended by adding at the PreviousendNext of the first sentence "except the hide of legally taken deer. Hides from legally taken deer may be bought, sold or bartered for a period of thirty calendar days following the PreviousendNext of the deer season." The section when amended shall read:

"Section 50-11-2110. It shall be unlawful to buy or sell, offer for sale, barter or have in possession for sale any deer or part thereof except the hide of legally taken deer. Hides from legally taken deer may be bought, sold or bartered for a period of thirty calendar days following the Previousend of the deer season. For a violation of this section, upon conviction, the guilty party for a first offense shall be fined not less than one hundred dollars nor more than three hundred dollars or be imprisoned for not more than thirty days; for a second offense within three years of the date of conviction for a first offense, such person shall be fined not less than three hundred dollars nor more than five hundred dollars or be imprisoned for not more than thirty days; for a third offense within three years of the date of conviction for a first offense, such person shall be fined one thousand dollars or be imprisoned for not more than sixty days."

Time effective

Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 1981.
