A HOUSE RESOLUTION

EXPRESSING THE CONGRATULATIONS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES TO MRS. JEAN TRAWICK BROWN OF LEXINGTON COUNTY ON THE OCCASION OF HER FIFTY-SECOND BIRTHDAY ON MARCH 19, 2003, AND WISHING HER MANY MORE YEARS OF HAPPINESS.

Whereas, Mrs. Jean Trawick Brown of Lexington County was an outstanding student in her high school years, being both a National Junior Beta Club and a National Beta Club member and receiving such honors as the 1968 Outstanding Teenagers of America Award, University of Georgia Certificate of Merit Scholar, 1968-1969 Daughters of the American Revolution Award, 1967 and 1968 Miss High School Award, 1967 MostNext Typical Junior Award, 1968 PreviousMostNext Typical Senior Award, and many others; and

Whereas, Mrs. Brown was also a talented athlete during that time on both the cheerleading squad and the basketball team receiving the PreviousMostNext Valuable Basketball Player Award, the 1967 Best Forward Award, and the PreviousMost Athletic Award of the Class of 1969; and

Whereas, she was an influential leader of her peers in the Blue and Gold Club, the "S" Club, and by serving as the President of her class in 1969; and

Whereas, Mrs. Brown uses the leadership skills that she developed as a teenager to currently help her community by teaching school and serving as a member of the Sandersville Elementary School Council since 2001; and

Whereas, she is also a devoted member of the Darien Baptist Church where she has faithfully taken on the roles of music director, youth leader, Sunday School teacher, and choir member; and

Whereas, while giving her time to education and to her church, Mrs. Brown has also been a dedicated mother to Lynn Dickens and Kathy Sweat and a loving grandmother to Nicholas Burgamy, Caroline Sweat, and Austin Dickens. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives, by this resolution, express their congratulations to Mrs. Jean Trawick Brown of Lexington County on the occasion of her fifty-second birthday on March 19, 2003, and wish her many more years of happiness.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mrs. Jean Trawick Brown of Lexington County.
