 OF DALZELL WHO WON THE AMERICAN POWER BOAT ASSOCIATION'S "A STOCK HYDRO CLASS
 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP" IN AUGUST OF 2001 IN WHITNEY POINT, NEW YORK, AND TO
 WISH HIM MUCH SUCCESS IN HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

TO COMMEND AND CONGRATULATE FOURTEEN YEAR OLD BRENT DILLARD OF DALZELL WHO WON THE AMERICAN POWER BOAT ASSOCIATION'S "A STOCK HYDRO CLASS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP" IN AUGUST OF 2001 IN WHITNEY POINT, NEW YORK, AND TO WISH HIM MUCH SUCCESS IN HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina applaud Brent Dillard of Dalzell on the occasion of his winning the "A Stock Hydro Class National Championship" title in August of 2001 at the age of fourteen; and

Whereas, Brent Dillard, a ninth grader at Thomas Sumter Academy, is one of the youngest members of the American Power Boar Association to win the "A Stock Hydro Class National Championship" title; and

Whereas, competing in this event were over thirty-six individuals from twenty states, most of whom were adults. This event is one of the most competitive classes in stock outboard racing and attracts a very strong class of adults; and

Whereas, Brent Dillard, a three time national champion, has also won the National Championship and the North American Championship titles in the American Power Boat Association Junior Runabout Class; and

Whereas, with over one hundred years of experience, American Power Boar Association is the sole governing body for all power boat races in the United States and is accredited by the Union of International Motorboating, the world authority for power boat racing, in Morocco. Therefore, records set or championships won at the American Power Boat Association approved races are eligible to receive world title status; and

Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives are proud to recognize Brent Dillard of Dalzell on his outstanding boating accomplishments with the American Power Boat Association at such a young age and hope his future holds many more successes in boating and in life. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, commend and congratulate fourteen year old Brent Dillard of Dalzell who won the American Power Boat Association "A Stock Hydro Class National Championship" in August of 2001 in Whitney Point, New York, and wish him much success in his future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Brent Dillard of Dalzell.
