(A457, R277, S1323)
A JOINT RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE STATE BUDGET AND CONTROL BOARD EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2000, TO TRANSFER OWNERSHIP OF A SURPLUS NATIONAL GUARD ARMORY IN WHITMIRE, SOUTH CAROLINA, TO THE TOWN OF WHITMIRE.
Whereas, the National Guard Armory located on Highway 121 in Whitmire, South Carolina, is currently vacant; and
Whereas, the State Military Department has relocated the National Guard unit previously headquartered at this armory and has declared this property surplus to its current needs; and
Whereas, a replacement site is neither an issue nor necessary because the military department is unable to forecast a need for such a site. Now, therefore,
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Transfer of National Guard Armory
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 25-1-1660 of the 1976 Code, the State Budget and Control Board effective July 1, 2000, is authorized to transfer ownership of a surplus National Guard Armory located on Highway 121 in Whitmire, South Carolina, to the Town of Whitmire.
Time effective
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
Ratified the 26th day of April, 2000.
Approved the 1st day of May, 2000.
