 DRILL TEAM COMPETITION AT UNIVERSAL STUDIOS IN ORLANDO, FLORIDA.

CONGRATULATING THE HI-STEPPER DANCE TEAM OF IRMO HIGH SCHOOL ON WINNING NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP HONORS AT THE UNITED STATES DANCE AND DRILL TEAM COMPETITION AT UNIVERSAL STUDIOS IN ORLANDO, FLORIDA.

Whereas, the Hi-Stepper Dance Team of Irmo High School competed at the United States Dance and Drill Team Competition held at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida, February 11 through 13; and

Whereas, the Hi-Steppers competed at this national competition in jazz, pom, and prop/novelty against schools throughout the country, winning National Championship Honors in prop/novelty and placing third in their jazz routine; and

Whereas, the Hi-Steppers have flourished under the expert direction of Ms. Lauren Metts for the past thirteen years annually performing at countless school events and capturing numerous honors and awards at competitions throughout the State and the Southeast; and

Whereas, the Hi-Steppers have demonstrated exceptional talent, dedication, hard work, and unity and are highly deserving of special commendation for this national honor. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates the Hi-Steppers Dance Team of Irmo High School on winning National Championship Honors at the United States Dance and Drill Team Competition at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. G. Witt, Principal of Irmo High School and to the Irmo Hi-Steppers and their director Ms. Lauren Metts.
