 AGRICULTURE AND TO CONGRATULATE MR. RHOAD ON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT
 FROM THE SOUTH CAROLINA FARM BUREAU AND WISH FOR HIM YEARS OF HEALTH AND
 HAPPINESS IN HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO COMMEND DAVID BENJAMINE (BENJIE) RHOAD, SR., OF LEXINGTON, ON HIS DEDICATION TO PreviousNATIONALNext, STATE, AND LOCAL LEADERSHIP IN AGRICULTURE AND TO CONGRATULATE MR. RHOAD ON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT FROM THE SOUTH CAROLINA FARM BUREAU AND WISH FOR HIM YEARS OF HEALTH AND HAPPINESS IN HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly wish to express their appreciation and gratitude for Benjie Rhoad, Sr., in his endeavors and for his leadership in agriculture while working with the Farm Bureau; and

Whereas, Mr. Rhoad is retiring from his current position of assistant to the president of the South Carolina Farm Bureau Federation, and he has been with the Farm Bureau family since 1965 and has dedicated nearly thirty-six years of faithful service to them; and

Whereas, Mr. Rhoad, whose family roots in agriculture are traced to Bamberg, graduated from Clemson University in 1963, and became a teacher of vocational agriculture education in the Gilbert public schools and later working as a conservationist for the Soil Conservation Service in Orangeburg County; and

Whereas, Mr. Rhoad, in retirement, will continue to serve as a role model of leadership and citizenship and plans to remain an active volunteer with Future Farmers of America, his church, and civic clubs; and

Whereas, Benjie Rhoad holds the Honorary American Future Farmers of America Degree, the PreviousnationalNext FFA's highest honorary award conferred upon those who contribute PreviousnationallyNext to the advancement of agriculture education and who provide outstanding service to their local program and community, and among other FFA honors he has received the FFA Greenhand Chapter, State and American Farmer Degree, five honorary Chapter Farmer Degrees, Honorary State Farmer Degree, State FFA Advisory Committee member, State Agriculture Education Committee member, and Chapter FFA advisory Committee member; and

Whereas, Mr. Rhoad has also earned the respect and admiration of his peers and colleagues as evidenced by his receiving South Carolina Farm Bureau's highest staff award, the Distinguished Staff Award, and he has held many staff positions of leadership at the PreviousnationalNext level of Farm Bureau; and

Whereas, it is appropriate for members of the General Assembly to pause in their deliberations so that they might note this milestone in the life of so distinguished a son of South Carolina. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the South Carolina House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, commend David Benjamine (Benjie) Rhoad, Sr., of Lexington, on his dedication to Previousnational, state, and local leadership in agriculture, congratulate him on the occasion of his retirement from the South Carolina Farm Bureau, and wish for him years of health and happiness in his future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Mr. Rhoad.
