 2, FOR BEING NAMED THE 2002 NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL OF THE YEAR BY THE
 NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF SECONDARY SCHOOL PRINCIPALS.

TO EXTEND THE SENATE'S SINCEREST CONGRATULATIONS TO DR. SHARON BUDDIN, PRINCIPAL OF RIDGE VIEW HIGH SCHOOL, RICHLAND SCHOOL DISTRICT 2, FOR BEING NAMED THE 2002 NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL OF THE YEAR BY THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF SECONDARY SCHOOL PRINCIPALS.

Whereas, Dr. Sharon Buddin, Principal of Ridge View High School in Richland School District 2, has been bestowed the distinct honor of being named the 2002 National High School Principal of the Year by the National Association of Secondary School Principals; and

Whereas, this honor is a reflection of her excellent leadership, superior ability, and unmatched commitment to education; and

Whereas, Dr. Buddin has been recognized for her willingness to take risks, her innovative approaches to learning, her ability to anticipate and solve problems, and her consistent success in improving Ridge View's overall learning environment; and

Whereas, Dr. Buddin also has the distinction of being the first principal from our State to receive this honor; and

Whereas, Dr. Buddin's achievement is a shining example of this State's commitment to providing quality education to its students; and

Whereas, the people of Richland County and the State of South Carolina are privileged to have a nationally recognized school administrator working for their students; and

Whereas, Dr. Buddin's efforts have been previously recognized by being named the 2001 South Carolina High School Principal of the Year. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the Senate extends its sincerest congratulations to Dr. Sharon Buddin, Principal of Ridge View High School, Richland School District 2, for being named the 2002 National High School Principal of the Year by the National Association of Secondary School Principals.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Dr. Sharon Buddin.
