A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE A. JUNE LENNON OF GREENVILLE ON RECEIVING THE PreviousNATIONALNext FEDERATION OF INDEPENDENT BUSINESS SOUTHEAST REGIONAL "SMALL-BUSINESS CHAMPION" AWARD AND TO EXTEND BEST WISHES TO HER IN ALL HER FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, A. June Lennon, of Martin and Lennon, CPA's, P. A. in Greenville, was first selected in February as the state recipient of the PreviousNationalNext Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) "Small Business Champion" award and on April 28, 2004, was selected as the Southeast Regional Champion for this award; and

Whereas, the NFIB "Small Business Champion" award program identifies small business owners who have distinguished themselves through their involvement and participation in PreviousNationalNext Federation of Independent Business programs and activities that promote the issues important to small businesses and the public they serve; and

Whereas, A. June Lennon graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science Degree in accounting from Bob Jones University and joined her CPA firm in 1976, where she became a partner in 1982, specializing in tax consulting and financial planning for corporations and individuals; and

Whereas, Ms. Lennon, an NFIB member since 1982, is well known for her longstanding, active role in the organization and is greatly respected for her drive and dedication to accomplish and strengthen the mission of the NFIB; and

Whereas, Ms. Lennon currently serves as the chair of South Carolina's NFIB Safe Trust PAC Board and as the PreviousNationalNext NFIB Leadership Trust Vice Chairman; she was a delegate for the NFIB Small Business Congressional Summit and has testified at Federal Congressional hearings; she was a delegate and state liaison at the 1995 White House Conference on Small Business and in 2002 was invited by the Whitehouse to participate in the President's Economic Forum, speaking on corporate responsibility and becoming one of only three asked to present suggestions to the President directly; and

Whereas, in addition to the demands of running her own business and her myriad commitments to the NFIB, Ms. Lennon finds time to participate in a number of PreviousnationalNext and community organizations, including the Greenville Sertoma Club, Greenville Chamber of Commerce, Piedmont Chapter of Child Evangelism Fellowship, and Miracle Hill Ministries; and

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina General Assembly are pleased to have the opportunity to recognize such an outstanding, distinguished South Carolinian as Ms. A. June Lennon. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly, by this resolution, congratulate A. June Lennon of Greenville on receiving the PreviousNational Federation of Independent Business Southeast Regional "Small-Business Champion" award and to extend best wishes to her in all her future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to A. June Lennon.
