 A HOUSE RESOLUTION TO EXPRESS THE DEEPEST SYMPATHY OF THE MEMBERS OF THE HOUSE
 OF REPRESENTATIVES TO THE FAMILY AND FRIENDS OF COLONEL JIMMY J. TAYLOR OF
 WEST COLUMBIA UPON HIS DEATH.

TO EXPRESS THE DEEPEST SYMPATHY OF THE MEMBERS OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES TO THE FAMILY AND FRIENDS OF COLONEL JIMMY J. TAYLOR OF WEST COLUMBIA UPON HIS DEATH.

Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Colonel Jimmy J. Taylor of West Columbia on Friday, June 1, 2001, at the age of sixty-three; and

Whereas, Colonel Taylor was a native of Lancaster and served for thirty-eight years in the South Carolina Army National Guard most of which was as a full-time employee of the State Adjutant General's office; and

Whereas, during his career with the Army National Guard, he served in a number of leadership positions including that of South Carolina Army National Guard Recruiting and Retention Manager for fourteen years and at the time of his retirement was serving as Director of Military Personnel, Office of the Adjutant General; and

Whereas, during his career he received numerous awards and decorations including the Army Commendation Medal, United States Meritorious Service Medal, and Legion of Merit; and

Whereas, he was a devoted husband and father who put the love of his family and friends above all else; and

Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives, by this resolution, would like to extend their sincere condolences to his family and friends upon the death of this truly fine man. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives express their deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Colonel Jimmy J. Taylor of West Columbia upon his death.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to his wife, Mrs. Donna Taylor.
