A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
COMMENDING THE STRATFORD HIGH SCHOOL LADY
KNIGHTS OF GOOSE CREEK, SOUTH CAROLINA, AND
COACH DEBRA TOLAR FOR THEIR 31-6 SEASON, CAPPED
BY WINNING THE AAAA STATE SOFTBALL
CHAMPIONSHIP.
Whereas, the Stratford High School Lady Knights began the 1996
season in a rebuilding mode; and
Whereas, the Lady Knights and Coach Tolar overcame their youth
and inexperience with raw talent and a grueling 37 game schedule;
and
Whereas, the Lady Knights put together a 31-6 season with a team
that began the year with only four players returning in their old
positions and a pitcher with only six games of high school
experience; and
Whereas, their season culminated with a 4-1 victory over Airport
High School in game three of the AAAA State Softball
Championship. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate
concurring:
That the Stratford High School Lady Knights of Goose Creek, South
Carolina, and Coach Debra Tolar are hereby commended by the
General Assembly of the State of South Carolina for their 31-6
season and capped by winning the AAAA State Softball
Championship.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to
Coach Debra Tolar on behalf of the Stratford High School Lady
Knights Softball Team.
