This bill deletes the requirement that the Secretary of Transportation must evaluate and approve the routine operation and maintenance requests or emergency repairs that are needed for existing roads and bridges that are not included in the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program. Additionally, the bill deletes the requirement that the Secretary must provide a report on requests for routine operation and maintenance or emergency repairs, and deletes the requirement that the Commission must approve these reports.

Department of Transportation (DOT). The agency indicates that this bill deletes the reporting requirements and the approval of specific reports by the DOT Commission. Further, the bill does not relinquish the department's responsibility to perform routine operation and maintenance functions or emergency repairs.
