 HIS DEDICATED PUBLIC SERVICE AND OUTSTANDING LEADERSHIP TO SPARTANBURG COUNTY
 AND THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA.

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE MR. GEORGE COBB OF SPARTANBURG COUNTY FOR HIS DEDICATED PUBLIC SERVICE AND OUTSTANDING LEADERSHIP TO SPARTANBURG COUNTY AND THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA.

Whereas, Mr. George Cobb of Spartanburg County has been an exemplary community leader dedicated to serving the people of Spartanburg County and the State of South Carolina; and

Whereas, he most recently is serving as Chairman of the Spartanburg County Transportation Committee, where he very ably has guided the committee in their deliberations and decisions thoroughly researching and understanding all issues before the committee; and

Whereas, Mr. Cobb previously served as the mayor of Pacolet from 1974-1982, during which time he demonstrated his commitment to planned growth and coordinated development; and

Whereas, during his tenure as mayor many significant developments occurred including the construction of the T. W. Edwards Recreation Building, the Spartanburg County Ball Field and Recreation Complex, the Palmetto Health Center Medical Building, and a substantial shopping center development; and

Whereas, Mr. Cobb is known for his ability for bringing the parties to the table, guiding the process to consensus, and creating optimum opportunities for all while foremost being guided by protecting the best interests of the community; and

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina General Assembly are pleased to recognize Mr. Cobb who is greatly deserving of this commendation for his tireless efforts, dedicated service, and innovative leadership. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly, by this resolution, recognize Mr. George Cobb of Spartanburg County for his dedicated public service and outstanding leadership to Spartanburg County and the State of South Carolina.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. George Cobb of Spartanburg County.
