BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION AND MANY YEARS OF CONTINUED HEALTH AND HAPPINESS.

A HOUSE RESOLUTION
TO CONGRATULATE PHENIE BELL GRAYSON MOULTRIE OF GEORGETOWN COUNTY, ON THE OCCASION OF HER EIGHTIETH BIRTHDAY, AND TO WISH HER A JOYOUS BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION AND MANY YEARS OF CONTINUED HEALTH AND HAPPINESS.
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives are delighted to learn that Phenie Bell Grayson Moultrie of Georgetown County will celebrate her eightieth birthday on August 30, 2014; and
Whereas, born in the North Santee Community of Georgetown on August 30, 1934, in the fourth decade of the twentieth century, she has witnessed many remarkable social changes, extraordinary technological advancements, and international developments that have impacted the globe from that time into the second decade of the twenty-first century; and
Whereas, Phenie Bell Grayson was the oldest of nine children born to the late Mary Grayson Smith and the late Lester Humes; and
Whereas, she married her beloved husband, the late Thomas Moultrie on April 17, 1954, and they shared their joys and sorrows in sweet fidelity for almost thirty years until his death in 1984; and
Whereas, together Phenie and Thomas reared eleven fine children: Clarence, John L., Horace, Ruby, Clyde, Myra, Janet, Anthony, William, Sharon, and Nakesha. These children have blessed her with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and
Whereas, Mrs. Moultrie was employed as a cook with the Georgetown County Board of Education at Howard High School, and she worked as a housekeeper; and
Whereas, she is a faithful member of the House of Prayer of the Church of God in Christ Jesus in the North Santee Community, where she serves on the Mothers Board and has been honored as the church's Mother of the Year; and
Whereas, a humble, generous, and compassionate woman, Mrs. Moultrie enjoys cultivating her vegetable and flower garden, and she loves to attend church, travel, and shop; and
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives are pleased to honor this daughter of South Carolina at the celebration of her eightieth birthday and join with her family and friends in congratulating her on reaching this extraordinary milestone. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, congratulate Phenie Bell Grayson Moultrie of Georgetown County, on the occasion of her eightieth birthday, and wish her a joyous birthday celebration and many years of continued health and happiness.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be provided to Phenie Bell Grayson Moultrie.
