AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 56-5-3650, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO MOTORCYCLE FOOTRESTS, HANDLEBARS, AND REAR VIEW MIRRORS, SO AS TO DELETE THE PROVISION THAT SPECIFIES THE SIZE AND POSITION OF A MOTORCYCLE'S HANDLEBARS.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Motorcycle handlebars
SECTION 1. Section 56-5-3650 of the 1976 Code is amended to read:
"Section 56-5-3650. (A) Any motorcycle carrying a passenger, other than in a sidecar or enclosed cab, must be equipped with footrests for its passenger.
(B) A person shall not operate any motorcycle unless it is equipped with a rear view mirror which will afford the operator ample vision to the rear at all times."
Time effective
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
