AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 56-5-3650, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO MOTORCYCLE FOOTRESTS, HANDLEBARS, AND REAR VIEW MIRRORS, SO AS TO DELETE THE PROVISION THAT SPECIFIES THE SIZE AND POSITION OF A MOTORCYCLE'S HANDLEBARS.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Motorcycle handlebars

SECTION    1.    Section 56-5-3650 of the 1976 Code is amended to read:

"Section 56-5-3650.    (A)    Any motorcycle carrying a passenger, other than in a sidecar or enclosed cab, must be equipped with footrests for its passenger.

(B)    A person shall not operate any motorcycle unless it is equipped with a rear view mirror which will afford the operator ample vision to the rear at all PrevioustimesNext."

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.

Ratified the 18th day of May, 2006.
