 THE 2002 SOUTH CAROLINA INDEPENDENT SCHOOL ASSOCIATION 1A STATE SOFTBALL
 CHAMPIONSHIP (SCISA).

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING CLARENDON HALL OF SUMMERTON ON WINNING THE 2002 SOUTH CAROLINA INDEPENDENT SCHOOL ASSOCIATION 1A STATE SOFTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP (SCISA).

Whereas, Clarendon Hall of Summerton has captured the 2002 SCISA 1A State Softball Championship; and

Whereas, the Lady Saints of Clarendon Hall rallied from a four-run deficit in the sixth inning to beat Andrew Jackson 8-7 in eight innings to stay alive, and then took down the Lady Confederates of Andrew Jackson in the second game of the championship round 8-5 to claim Clarendon Hall's second consecutive softball crown; and

Whereas, the 2002 Lady Saints were comprised of the following players: Marlee Bennett, Ginny Griffin, Lauren Godwin, Danielle Sweatman, Danielle Wilson, Kacey Archer, Rebecca TindalNext, Ashley Brunson, Lil Stukes, Whitney Sweatman, Madeline Crosby, Brittany Godwin, and Dana Bennett; and

Whereas, the team's coaches are Joey Godwin and Bruce Bennett; the school's athletic director is Tim Grant; the school's Assistant Headmaster is Ms. Virginia "Ginger" Rhodes; and the Headmaster is Dr. Michael Connors; and

Whereas, the school's trustees include the following: Mr. Troy Allan, Mr. Thomas R. Bair, Mrs. Ann Belser, Mrs. Wendy Cogdill, Dr. Michael F. Connors, Dr. J. Daulton DuBose, Mr. D. P. Elliott III, Mr. Rick Hall, Dr. Gene Phillips, Ms. Virginia T. Rhodes, Mr. Thomas L. Rhodes, Dr. L. A. Robinson, Mr. William R. Simpson, Mr. Joey Smoak, Mr. David PreviousTindalNext III, Mr. D. Leslie PreviousTindal, Jr.

Whereas, the Lady Saints of Clarendon Hall exhibited superb talent, expertise, hard work, and unity in winning the 2002 state championship, and we are pleased to be able to salute them in this special way. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates Clarendon Hall of Summerton on winning the 2002 SCISA 1A State Softball Championship.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Clarendon Hall in Summerton.
