S 0269 General Bill, By T.E. Garrison
 A Bill to amend the Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, by adding sections
 28-1-40, 28-1-50 and 28-1-60 so as to require condemnors to inform in writing
 condemnees when exercising the power of eminent domain of certain rights which
 he has to protect himself during the condemnation proceedings; to prohibit a
 condemnor from acquiring more land than is necessary for the creation of a
 lake or other body of water and electric powerhouse complex to be used in
 conjunction therewith; to provide that the owner of any land condemned for the
 construction of a lake or other body of water shall retain possession of the
 land to the high watermark; and to provide that any land which is taken in
 eminent domain proceedings which is not used for the purpose for which it is
 condemned shall be returned to the landwwner owning it at the time of its
 condemnation or to his successors or assigns.
